Stack0 Analytics vs Plausible
Plausible is the closest thing to a philosophical sibling we have: cookieless, no banner, readable in ten seconds, open source. If you're comparing us, you've probably already decided you don't want GA4. The real question is narrower than most comparison pages admit.
Stack0 Analytics vs Plausible, feature by feature
| Capability | Stack0 Analytics | Plausible |
|---|---|---|
| Cookieless, no consent banner | Yes — daily rotating hashes. | Yes — no cookies, no persistent identifiers. |
| Where a revenue number comes from | A signed Stripe or RevenueCat webhook, verified server-side. The public beacon rejects any amount sent from a browser. | Revenue values attached to custom events, available on the Business plan and up. |
| Customer LTV by channel | Renewals keep accumulating on the original journey, so channels rank by lifetime value. | Not a reporting dimension. |
| Open source / self-hostable | No. Hosted only. | Yes — AGPL, with a documented self-hosting path. |
| Funnels | Included on every plan. | Business plan and up. |
| Mobile app tracking | Swift and React Native clients, with RevenueCat webhooks for in-app purchases. | Web-focused. |
Plausible pricing: Tiered by monthly pageviews and gated by feature: Starter $9/mo, Growth $14/mo, and Business $19/mo at the lowest tier, where funnels, ecommerce revenue attribution, and the Stats API start. Read off their own pricing page in August 2026 — check it before you decide, because plans move and we don't control that page.
A browser can't be trusted with a dollar amount
This is the actual design difference. Plausible lets you attach a revenue value to a custom event fired from the page. That's flexible and it works. It also means the number in your dashboard is whatever the browser said it was — which is fine until someone opens devtools, or a checkout fires twice on a retry, or a refund never reaches the analytics tool. Stack0 Analytics refuses revenue from the public beacon entirely. Amounts arrive only from a signed webhook, deduplicated by event ID, so the dashboard number and the Stripe number reconcile.
First touch that survives the renewal
Plausible's revenue lands on the event and the session that produced it. Stack0 Analytics keeps the journey: first visit, signup, first payment, and every renewal after it stay attached to the channel that originally brought the visitor. That's what makes 'revenue per visitor from Reddit' and 'LTV by source' possible, and it's the number you actually want when deciding where the next marketing dollar goes.
Where Plausible is the better buy
It's open source and you can host it yourself — we can't offer that and won't pretend otherwise. It's been shipping since 2019 with a bigger community, more integrations, and a public roadmap. Its Starter plan is cheaper than ours at low traffic. And if you don't sell anything — a blog, a docs site, a portfolio — everything on this page about payment webhooks is irrelevant to you, and Plausible is the simpler tool.
Running both while you decide
Two script tags don't conflict, and a fortnight of overlap tells you more than any comparison page. Watch whether the visitor counts track each other (they should be close — both filter bots and neither uses cookies), then check whether the revenue view changes a decision you were about to make. If it doesn't, keep the cheaper tool.
So which one should you use?
Pick Plausible if you want to self-host, if you don't sell anything, or if you're at low traffic and the Starter plan covers you. Pick Stack0 Analytics if money changes hands on your site and you want the dashboard's revenue number to be one you'd defend in a board meeting, because it came from Stripe rather than from JavaScript.
Questions people actually ask
- Is Plausible's revenue tracking not real revenue attribution?
- It is revenue attribution — it just sources the amount from a browser event rather than a verified payment webhook, and it reports on the converting session rather than a lifetime journey. Which matters depends on whether your revenue is one-off checkouts or recurring subscriptions.
- Can I self-host Stack0 Analytics like Plausible?
- No. Stack0 Analytics is hosted only. If self-hosting is a requirement, Plausible, Umami, and Matomo are the tools to look at.
- Which is cheaper?
- At low traffic, Plausible's Starter plan. Comparing like for like is harder than it looks: Plausible tiers by pageviews and gates funnels and ecommerce revenue behind Business, while Stack0 Analytics uses site and monthly event allowances with every feature included.
- Do both work without a cookie banner?
- Both are designed to. Neither sets cookies by default and neither stores a cross-site identifier. Your own obligations depend on everything else running on your site.
